Malam Yunusa .Z. Yau, a resource person at a media training programme on maternal health organised by Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre(CISLAC), has said about 140 women die daily in Nigeria from child birth related problems.
According to him maternal and child health should be on the taken seriously so that something tangible can be done to tackle them.
Ya’u also lamented that the situation is worse in rural areas, where media coverage is low.
He thereby called on the journalists to use the social media to improve their reports of maternal health issues in order for other stakeholders to key into them.
