The Ogun State Police command said, yesterday, it arrested 70 suspects from various criminal hideouts across the state and recovered 38 bags of Indian hemp in the state.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, in a statement explained that the raid was done as a follow up to the command’s earlier determination to rid the state of hoodlums and reduce criminality to its barest minimum.
He said: “The Ogun State Police command has intensified raid of black spots or criminal hideouts all over the state where almost 70 suspects were arrested weekend.
“The raids were directed by the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State, CP Ikemefuna Okoye and coordinated by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge Operations, DCP Mohammed Abdulkadir as one of the strategies adopted by the command to make the state inhabitable for hoodlums.”
