Tragedy occurred on Thursday as 4 workers of the Kano Tans Leather Factory in the Challawa Industrial Area drowned while trying to evacuate industrial waste from the company’s treatment plant.
Police spokesman, Magaji Musa Majiya, confirmed the accident, however he didn't provide any details on how they had died.
As soon as the company’s Chief Security Officer, Musa Umar, reported the matter to the police command, the latter immediately deployed security personnel to the scene.
The bodies of the victims were deposited in the mortuary of Murtala Muhammad Hospital before subsequently being buried according to Islamic practice.
