A 30-year-old commercial bus driver, Wasiu Aweda, was yesterday docked before an Apapa Magistrate court for allegedly driving recklessly leading to the death of a 60-year-old woman.
According to the prosecutor, Mr Friday Inedo, the defendant, who apart from killing the woman, caused serious injuries to four others at Alaba Oro area of Orile expressway.
The offence is contrary to part 7 Section 29(1) (2) Road Traffic Law (RTL) 2003.
The magistrate, Mr O. A. Amos, adjourned for hearing the case on the 26th of February 26 2013 having granted Aweda a bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
According to the prosecutor, Sgt Umeh Kalu, the offence took place in the Apapa area of the state and that the defendant is facing two-count charge punishable under Sections 378 and 409 laws of Lagos State of Nigeria.
However, the Magistrate, Mr M.O. Olubi, adjourned the case to February 3, 2014.
