Umar Doesn't Sponsor APC in Taraba, Remain Loyal to PDP

Acting Governor of Taraba State, Garba Umar, has debunked insinuations in some quarters that he is secretly sponsoring the opposition party, All Progressives Congress (APC), in the state.

Umar, who spoke through his Chief Press Secretary, Kefas Sule, yesterday in Jalingo, said that the acting governor remained a loyal member of his party, PDP.

Kefas said that Umar has no connection with any other political party apart from his own party that brought him to serve the good people of the state.

“He is a core loyalist of his party, the PDP, and will do everything possible to work for the interest of the party. PDP has done nothing wrong to him and he can’t see him working against the party that brought him to where he is today,” Kefas said.

Kefas further noted that Umar “understands” the constitution of his party, adding that the acting governor’s motive is uniting the party members.

He added that his boss “is working towards ensuring that Taraba moves to a greater height.”
