Pen Voice To Dig Out Hidden Talents – Publisher

Publisher of interdenominational Christian youth and motivational magazine, Pen Voice, Olanike Akinrimisi, has said that the need to inspire youths to Godly and noble paths inspired the publication.
Akinrimisi, a 2006 graduate of English from the Adekunle Ajasin University, Ondo, who also has a Master’s in Literature from the University of Lagos, stated this during an interview with our correspondent.
According to her, her passion for writing and mentoring others are also key factors but she primarily believes that the ultimate is to use one’s talent to draw people to God.
She says, “The vision behind Pen Voice is to dominate the world by harnessing our potential, especially towards the God’s kingdom and development of humanity. I was particularly inspired to invest in the magazine the day the Holy Spirit led me through the parable of the talent. When some people were given different talents, one of them felt his was too small and so did not do anything with it. Rather, he gave excuses. But when the owner of the talents came, others who made use of their gifts gave good returns while he only gave excuses.
“He was stripped of the little talent and cast into hell fire.”The fact is that when you fail to make use of your talent the right way, you will account for it. Many youths believe that if they don’t use their talents in the worldly way, they cannot be successful. This is false, and it is part of the point we want to prove with Pen Voice.”
While the first edition of the magazine was presented to the public at the Faith in Christ Bible Church International, Ketu, Lagos last June, the second edition is out now. Ondo, Ondo State-born Akinrimisi notes that it is distributed free, as it depends on sponsorship and adverts.
Although she explains that the teething stress is getting lighter, she says it was initially very challenging.
Akinrimisi writes children literature and short stories. She has yet to publish any of them, but she makes some money from the enterprise by selling manuscripts to some publishing firms.
A peep into the second edition of Pen Voice shows that it features columns that include Ladies’ Guide, Life Issues, Career World, Health Pen, Youths World Pentainment and On a Lighter Mood.
