Pupil Who Committed Suicide Wanted To Be A Doctor –Father

The Circumstances surrounding the death of a pupil in Kwara State, who allegedly committed suicide, have yet to be unravelled.
For Olanrewaju Oyeniyi, father of a Senior Secondary 1 pupil of Oro Grammar School, in Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, Boluwatife, who allegedly committed suicide on January 20, 2014, the circumstance behind his son’s death is beyond comprehension.
Speaking to our correspondent at the family’s Shawo compound in Oke-rimi, Oro, Olanrewaju says the death of his son is not ordinary.
He says in an emotion-laden voice, “I know that what happened to my son was not ordinary.  But wherever it came from, I have left everything to God to judge and I know very soon that He will act.”
Boluwatife reportedly used his belt to hang himself on a tree in the school compound.
But how come a 14-year-old pupil could go to the extent of killing himself? Did he have academic challenges? Did his parents rebuke him over any matter? Was there a case of sabotage? These and many more questions are some of the issues our correspondent raised with Boluwatife’s father.
Looking up to high heavens as if he is a stargazer, Olanrewaju says he or his wife never had any serious issues with their son.The deceased born on March 21, 1999, he adds, was a jolly good fellow.
According to him, that fateful morning he took the youngster to his mother’s shop from where he walked down to his school.

WEIRD: President Obama's Former Drug Dealer Beaten To Death By Gay Lover

A marijuana dealer who served President Barack Obama during his high school years was beaten to death by his gay lover.
Although the murder was committed several years ago, the details were revealed this week.
The dealer Raymond Boyer was known to Obama and his 'Choom Gang' as 'Gay Ray', and used to sell the President and his friends weed. The 37-year-old was beaten to death with a hammer seven years ago by his lover Andrew Devere, a prostitute.
Devere gave a long list of reasons for the murder, including that Boyer, who was an unemployed chef and a surfer, had put him down, made him beg for drugs, and regularly broke wind in his face.
After serving as the President-to-be's dealer, Boyer lost his job as the manager of a pizzeria and lived on welfare. Devere was jailed for life for the murder, but was released in 2007.
US President Barack Obama has never denied taking marijuana in his youth, and recently said he thought marijuana was no worse than alcohol.

FOR REAL! New Course On Beyonce Introduced At University

Rutgers University is offering a course on Beyoncé at the school’s Department of Women’s and Gender Studies.
The class, which is called “Feminist Perspectives: Politicizing Beyoncé,” is being offered during the Spring semester at the college.
Queen Bey 101 is taught by PhD candidate Kevin Allred, who explained to the Rutgers Today newspaper exactly what students can expect from the class.
“This isn’t a course about Beyoncé’s political engagement or how many times she performed during President Obama’s inauguration weekend. Rather, the performer’s music and career are used as lenses to explore American race, gender and sexual politics.”
Allred pairs the lesson plans with the “Drunk in Love” songstress’ music videos and lyrics - he’s got plenty of material to choose from now.
But it’s not all Bey all the time. He also includes writing from artists and pioneers in the black feminist movement like Sojourner Truth and Alice Walker.
And according to Allred, Beyoncé’s class will be much more than a glossed-over run-through of her career.
“It’s important to shift students away from simply being consumers of media toward thinking more critically about what they’re engaging on a regular basis.”
And for those fans of Bey’s other half, they can enroll in the Georgetown University course dubbed, “The Sociology of Hip-Hop: Jay Z.”

10 Reasons To Lift Weights With Your Vagina

Fine, so maybe you never knew there was even one good argument for lifting weights with your vagina, but behold, there are ten or so.
While some reasons seem a little fishy, a few hold true. Let's take a closer look at Anami's claims:
1. Kegels don't work: This “fact” is widely disputed by doctors and women’s physical therapists. Kegels can strengthen vaginal muscles without resistance in the same way yoga strengthens the core with a pose. Remember, kegels and weightlifting are not mutually exclusive. Anami cites an ancient Taoist system of sexual practice that encourages pelvic weightlifting as an essential part of a health regime, and Dr. Berman recommends very light weights for resistance training.
2. Intensify your orgasms: The debate about the effectiveness of kegels pulses on, but everyone agrees that a strong pelvic floor can intensify orgasm. “The orgasm is an intense contraction, and a stronger pelvic floor can definitely intensify that, and even make it easier to have G-spot orgasms. This is because you are creating greater tension around the G-spot, and around him [the man's penis],” says Dr. Berman.
3. Become a world record-holder: The current record is held by a 40-something Russian mom named Tatyana Kozhevnikova. She unofficially claimed the title for World's Strongest Vagina in 2009 when she lifted 31 pounds with her vagina. Everyone knows records are meant to be broken, but vaginal weightlifting can be dangerous if not done safely and in moderation.

SHOUTING MATCH at the Senate, as Ekweremadu Bars Reading the Notice of Defection by 11 Senators

The Senate on January 30, 2014, Thursday deferred the request by Sen. Bukola Saraki that the notice of defection of 11 PDP senators to the APC is read on the floor of the Senate.
Sen. Saraki said that it was important for the letter to be read on the floor to formally inform the Senate of their defection to the opposition.
“A notice by a letter was communicated yesterday (Wednesday) to your Chair on notification of the change of political party by myself and 10 other senators from the platform of the PDP to the APC.
“So, I felt that it was necessary for me to bring to your attention that the letter has not yet been read,” Sen. Saraki said.
However, the Deputy Senate President, Sen. Ike Ekweremadu, who presided over the plenary, said the matter could not be discussed because the Senate President, Sen. David Mark, was absent.
Sen. Ekweremadu informed that he has been already instructed by Mark that a meeting with the defecting senators had been scheduled for next Monday.
He also added that the matter should be left until the Senate President returned from his trip out of Abuja.
Unfortunately, this explanation was not sufficient for Sen. Saraki. It led to an exchange of words, as Saraki was insisting that the issue of the letter had nothing to do with Mark’s intention to meet with the Senators.
Sen. Danjuma Goje also rose up to insist that the notification letter should be read because he and 10 other Senators had defected from the PDP to APC.

Igbo Deportees Request For A Compensation of N1 Billion From Lagos State Government

The suit filed by over 80 Igbo ‘deportees’ against the Lagos State Government came up on January 30, 2014, Thursday, at the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, with the plaintiffs demanding a compensation of 1 billion Naira (about USD6.3).
Seven plaintiffs filed the suit on behalf of 66 others and they are jointly seeking the compensation from the Lagos State government as general damages for breach of their rights.
The seven plaintiffs are Joseph Aniebonam, Osondu Mbuto, Osondu Agwu, Nnenna Ogbonna, Emily Okoroariri, Friday Ndukwe and Onyeka Ugwu.
Joined as respondents are the Attorney-General of Lagos State and the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State.
When the case was mentioned in court, the counsel representing the plaintiffs, Mr. Ugo Ugwunnadi, told the court that the case was coming up for the first time.
He informed the court that he had only been served with the processes from the first respondent, the Attorney General of Lagos and that the second respondent, the commissioner of police, was yet to serve his process.
The counsel, therefore, asked the court to give parties a date for the hearing of the matter by which time lawyers involved would have perfected their processes.
The Counsel representing the Attorney General of Lagos State, Mr. Tayo Odupitan, told the court that he had filed a counter-affidavit, written address and an exhibit, all in response to the plaintiffs’ suit.
He, however, informed the court that the A-G Lagos State, Mr. Ade Ipaye, had indicated his intention to defend the suit personally.
Meanwhile, Counsel to the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Sam Adebeshin, told the court that he was yet to regularise the processes on behalf of the second respondent.
After listening to all the parties, Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia adjourned the case to February 19 for further hearing.

Debutants Nigeria lost the CHAN semi-final to Ghana after a penalty shootout when there were no goals in normal and extra time.
“There was so much anxiety because the players wanted to do so much,” lamented Stephen Keshi.
“We wish to thank Nigerians for their prayers and support for this team.”
Substitute Joshua Obaje told MTNFootball.com they were unlucky not to go through to the final against Libya this weekend.

“All the same, we hope to improve for our next game.”
However, Nigeria may be missing several players for their next game after they suffered serious injuries against the very physical Black Stars.

This has been revealed on January 29, 2014, Wednesday, by a top official of the Ministry, who spoke to newsmen on condition of anonymity.

REVEALED: 45 FG Directors Refuse To Leave Offices After Tenure Expired (Still Paid Salary)

Forty-five directors in the Foreign Affairs Ministry still remain in their offices even though they were to retire in December, 2013, as their eight-year tenure had expired.
Investigations have revealed that the lawmakers should have been relieved of their duties on December 31, 2013, after eight years in office. However, they are sitting tight, defying directions from the Head of Civil Service of the Federation and the Foreign Affairs ministry's permanent secretary to vacate their positions.
The policy on tenure for directors, introduced in 2009, stipulates that a director shall serve for a maximum of two terms of four years each.
Accordng to senior officials in the Ministry, over 30 directors are on foreign postings, serving as ambassadors, high commissioners, heads of mission or other positions at Nigeria's missions abroad. They are yet to start any of the processes for their retirement.
"The bone of the contention is that these directors want the eight years tenure to be calculated from when a director actually assumes office and not from the notional date of promotion which is usually two to three years earlier," an official said.

TIPS FOR WOMEN: Five Ways To Delay His Orgasm

It takes men an average of five to six minutes to reach orgasm, while it takes women an average of 15 to 20 minutes. That's called the 'Orgasm Gap,' and it's an issue that almost all couples have to deal with at some point in their sex lives. Luckily, techniques exist to help overcome the problem.
1. Foreplay Before The Foreplay: We all know that women like a little foreplay to get them going, but how about kicking off the foreplay before you're even touching? Woman Had Sex In Her Male Friend's Car While Her Kids Who She Locked In Her Own Car (With The Heater Running) Died Of Hyperthermia

A mother whose children died after she locked them in the car with a heater running, while she had sex in another vehicle, is on trial for homicide. Prosecutors say Heather Jensen, 25, carried out a "death sentence" against her two young sons when she locked then in the hot car, Fox 31 Denver reports. The charges against Ms Jensen include criminally negligent homicide, child abuse resulting in death and false reporting. The rest of the story after the break

"Ms Jensen created the situation that caused her children to die," prosecutor Danielle Lewis said in opening statements. Her defence says her actions should be assessed with regard to her low IQ, her youth and the fact her husband died six weeks earlier in a car accident. "It was a tragedy, but it was an accident. It was not a crime," said public defender Elsa Archambault. Ms Jensen sobbed loudly as her trial opened last week in Mesa County District Court, Colorado.

Anti-Same Sex Marriage Act 2013 not problem to HIV treatment — NACA

Director General of National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA), Prof. John Idoko, says no provision of the Anti-Same Sex Marriage Act will deny anybody access to HIV treatment.
The agency’s view is contained in a statement issued by Mrs Toyin Aderibigbe, Assistant Chief Communication Officer in the agency, in Abuja on Monday.
The statement quoted Idoko as saying that “the Government of Nigeria remains fully committed to improving the health of Nigerians and preventing all AIDS related deaths.
“Therefore, FG (Federal Government) will continue to ensure that Nigerians have access to the requisite services that they may require as guaranteed by the constitution.’’
It noted that nothing in the law refers to or prohibits programmes targeted at prevention, treatment, care and support for people living with HIV or affected by AIDS in Nigeria.

Ghana not worried about goal drought

Ghana boss Maxwell Konadu only cares about advancing in the Chan, and not about a low goal count.
The gaffer insists that nobody remembers those who scored many goals but come second, and that progressing is more important than the statistics.
“I think we don’t plan to always come and score one goal but we plan our game according to the strength and weaknesses of our opponents,” Konadu told the FA’s official site.
Ghana have scored four goals in four games, and have conceded just once at the tournament. On Sunday, the Stars crawled into the semi-final via Kwabena Adusei’s strike from the spot got them a 1-0 win over DR Congo.
Nigeria and Libya have scored the most goals among the four teams that have made the semis, with Ghana only ahead of the equally frugal Zimbabwe.
But Ghana have been measly in defence as, with Zimbabwe, they have conceded just once in four matches.
“But just in case it happens that we score one goal and we are able to defend well, that for me is a plus to our team because we know the strengths and weaknesses of our team.”
“We don’t have to expose our boys to danger. We have to just protect our goal area as much as we can and if by doing so we end it up with one goal, that is okay that is football. It’s all about what you can do in the 90 minutes,” he said.

Police permit not required for rallies in Nigeria

IN January 2012, the mass protests against the so-called removal of fuel subsidy were violently disrupted by the police and the army personnel. During its recent industrial action the Academic Staff Union of Universities had cause to direct its members to embark on protests to draw public attention to the underfunding of public universities in Nigeria. The police dispersed the protesting academics with tear gas. A fortnight ago, a political rally in Port Harcourt, Rivers State was brutally suppressed by the police. In justifying the violent attack, Mr. Joseph Mbu, the Rivers State Commissioner of Police claimed that the rally was unauthorized as the conveners did not obtain police permit.
Infringement of fundamental rights
Since the disruption of public meetings and rallies is an infringement of the fundamental right of Nigerians to freedom of association, assembly and expression it is pertinent to draw the attention of the authorities to the state of the law on public meetings.
Under the Public Order Act (Cap P42) Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004 the power to regulate public meetings, processions and rallies in any part of Nigeria was exclusively vested in the governors of the respective states of the Federation. Thus, by virtue of section 1 of the Act the Commissioner of Police or any other police officer could not issue a licence or permit for any meeting or rally without the authority of the governor. In other words, no police officer was competent to issue a permit for holding any public meeting or rally or cancel any such public meeting or rally without the authority of the governor of a state.
In the case of All Nigeria Peoples Party  & Ors. v. Inspector General of Police (2006) CHR 181 the Plaintiffs being registered political parties requested the Defendant, the Inspector-General by a letter dated May 21, 2004 to issue Police Permits to their members to hold unity rallies throughout the country to protest the rigging of the 2003 elections. The request was refused. There was a violent disruption of the rally organized in Kano on September 22, 2003 on the ground that no police permit was obtained.
In a suit filed at the Federal High Court against the Inspector-General of Police the Plaintiffs challenged the constitutional validity of police permit under the Public Order Act and the violent disruption of the rally. In defending the action the Defendant contended that the conveners of the rally did not obtain a police permit.
In dismissing the contention of the Police the trial judge, the Honourable Justice Chinyere stated inter alia: “The gist of the provision in section 1 of the Act is that the Governor of each State is empowered to direct the conduct of all assemblies, meetings and processions on public roads or places of public resort in the state and prescribe the route by which and times at which the procession may pass.

Thieves steal Pope John Paul’s blood from Italy church

Thieves broke into a small church in the mountains, east of Rome over the weekend and stole a reliquary with the blood of late Pope John Paul II.
Some of John Paul’s blood was saved after an assassination attempt that nearly killed him in St. Peter’s Square on May 13, 1981.
Franca Corrieri, custodian of the reliquary, said she had discovered a broken window early on Sunday morning and called the police.
She said when they entered the small stone church they found the gold reliquary and a crucifix missing.
Corrieri said the incident felt more like a “kidnapping’’ than a theft as she could not say if the intention of the thieves may have been to seek a ransom for the blood.
