TERRIBLE: Couple Strangles Woman To Death For Refusing Their Sexual Advances

A 29-year-old woman was strangled to death by a couple, living in the same building with her for refusing their sexual advances.

The naked body of the 29-year-old Mahtab Savoji, an Iranian who was studying costume design in Milan was found in a luggage in a canal last week where the couple had dumped her after strangling her.

The Indian couple 30-year-old Gagandeep Kaur, 30 and 28-year-old Rajeshwar Singh have been arrested in connection with the murder but denied killing her claiming they only panicked and hid the body after finding her dead last Monday morning, after she had drunk a lot of whisky the night before.

The couple who were captured on CCTV were said that have been under suspicion following their contradictory accounts.

Police are working on the theory that the murder was the result of the student rejecting unwelcome sexual approaches by the couple.

Mahtab who had told her friends she was not getting along with her roommates was said to have allegedly had sexual advances from Mr Singh and on the day she was due to move out was found dead.

The body surfaced within hours of its disposal, but took police six days to identify.

A postmortem revealed that Miss Savoji died of asphyxiation and investigation revealed there was no water in her lungs indicating that she must have been killed before she arrived in the canal.
