Gunmen attack Bauchi police station, kill policeman, son

Unknown gunmen attacked the Soro Divisional Police Station in Ganjuwa Local Government Area of Bauchi State, killing one policeman and his son, injuring a corporal and freeing four suspects from detention.
The gunmen, who launched the attack at about 1.05am on Monday, were said to have completely burned down the station.
This is coming barely one week after “cattle rustlers” attacked the Giade Divisional Police Headquarters with explosives, causing severe damage to the building, carting away arms, ammunition and a police Toyota Hilux, and freeing one suspect from detention.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Bauchi State Police Command, DSP Haruna Mohammed, confirmed the incident to newsmen in Bauchi.
He said the injured corporal was shot in the leg by the gunmen during the attack.
The PPRO said three suspects had been arrested in connection with the attack, adding that the police were currently investigating the incident
A security source said  that the murdered policeman was serving in Gombe State and had come to Soro to see his family before the attack on him and his son.
