The Kano State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has appointed a caretaker committee to oversee its affairs.
The committee was announced on February 1, 2014, Saturday, after a meeting of the party elders held at the Government House, Kano, and presided over by Gov. Rabi’u Kwankwaso on Friday night.
The list of appointed persons included:
2. Alhaji Adamu Sumaila – the Secretary
3. Alhaji Abbas Sani – the Assistant Secretary
4. Mr Bashir Karaye – the Public Relations Officer
5. Alhaji Salisu Abba – the Treasurer
6. Alhaji Murtala Garo – the Organising Secretary
7. Alhaji Rabi’u Bako – the Youth Leader
8. Hajiya Maryam Kofar-mata – the Woman Leader
9. Alhaji Sa’adu Hassan – the Ex-officio member.
In his speech after the meeting, Gov. Kwankwaso urged the party members to give the caretaker officials the necessary support and cooperation to enable the party to succeed in the state and the country at large.
“This is an appointment not election; so we want all party members to support the interim officials of the party to achieve the desired results,” he said.
In his return the newly-appointed Chairman, Gwarzo, promised to work hard for the success of the party in the state.
