UK Prime Minister David Cameron has given the all clear for pubs to stay open late so that English fans can watch England's opening World Cup showdown with Italy.
Roy Hodgson's men will take on the 2006 World Cup winners in the Manaus jungle on June 14 but some Brits feared they may not be able to watch i
The game was moved back from 9pm to 6pm local time in December, which kicks off at 11pm in the UK.
It is believed the Prime Minister has now overruled the Home Office's decision to reject the British Beer and Pub Association first proposal to keep the pubs open longer.
A source said: "We'll now consult with the pub industry, police and councils on best way to make sure pubs can be open for the Italy game at 11pm."
Pubs will now be able to serve alcohol beyond the regular cut-off point of 11pm all the way through the early hours of the morning.
David Cameron showed he was a fan of pubs last week by taking French president Francois Hollande for a pub lunch.
