The Headies 2013 winners [Full Winners List]

The Headies 2013 which held last night in Lagos saw Nigerian rapper Olamide turn out the biggest winner walking away with the highest number of awards.
The Yoruba-lingo rapper picked up three awards: His ‘Durosoke‘ single won ‘Best Street-Hop Artiste‘ award while his second album ‘YBNL‘ won not only the ‘Best Rap Album‘ (beating the likes of Illbliss, Vector andReminisce) but also won the ‘Best Album of the Year‘ award.
Finally! I’m very grateful‘, Olamide said as he picked up his first Headie.
Other big winners of the night were Pop singer Davido who bagged two awards – ‘Best RnB/Pop Album‘ for his debut ‘O.B.O: The Genesis‘ and ‘Hip-Hop World Revelation’, Phyno who won ‘Best Rap Single‘ for his ‘Man of the year‘ song and ‘Best Collaboration‘ for his rap duet ‘Ghost mode‘ with Olamide.
Jaywon shocked all as he beat stiff competition from Waje, Brymo and Sound Sultan to win the ‘Recording of the Year‘ with his ‘Odun yi‘ single. ‘Thank God for making this a success. Thanks to my record label‘, the KENNIS Music act who fought to hold back tears said as he picked up his award.
Modenine returned to claim his ‘Lyricist on the Roll‘ award for seventh time. He however wasn’t present to pick up his award.
Two other winners who were absent were KCEE (whose single ‘Limpopo‘ won ‘Song of the year‘) and label mate Harrysong (whose song was adjudged the most downloaded song on the MTN platform). The awards were picked up by producer Del B.
Despite not picking up any other award, Pop singer Iyanya won the biggest title of the night, walking away with the ‘Artiste of Year‘ award. It was a big year for the MMMG act; releasing arguably the most successful album this year ‘Iyanya VS Desire‘ which produced five massive singles and going on tour in the US.
Budding act Sean Tizzle and his producer DeeTunes both walked away with awards; Sean bagged the ‘Next Rated‘ award, walking away with a brand Hyundai automobile while DeeTunes won the ‘Producer of the Year‘.
Fuji great KWAM 1 was inducted into The Headies ‘Hall of Fame‘. Organizers had however announcedOnyeka Onwenu as the recipient of the award.
