Manchester United boss David Moyes is ready to send Nick Powell to Steve Bruce’s Hull - after his stunning success at Championship side Wigan.
Moyes has spoken to Bruce about a loan deal for the young attacker, who he wants to see play at Premier League level.
Champions United could sell Powell to one if his admirers - with Swansea City keen to step in - but he is swaying towards a short-term switch instead.
Bruce is hoping to do the move quickly - but will have to change the status of one of his current loan players to land him.
Hull have already borrowed Jake Livermore from Tottenham and Danny Graham from Sunderland, and clubs are only allowed two loanees at a time from other Premier League sides.
Bruce may try to make either Livermore or Graham permanent quickly as he tries to win the Powell chase.
